Royal Life Saving has been serving New Zealand for over 90 years and is the leading water safety, swimming and lifesaving education organisation in New Zealand.
Royal Life Saving is dedicated to turning everyday people into everyday community lifesavers.
It is our mission to prevent drownings in our communities.
To educate every New Zealander to be safe in, on and around water, and to render assistance to others who may be in difficulty in an aquatic environment.
We achieve this through:
- health promotion
- aquatic risk management
- community development
- sport and participation
- international networks
Lifesavers are everywhere in the community. They can be teachers, students, mums, dads, firemen, plumbers or accountants. They patrol the houses, streets, workplaces and parks of the communities in which they live. They don’t always wear a uniform but they can and do save lives.
