Geh Thuan Tek

Geh-Thuan-Tek

Asia Pacific Regional Trustee

Geh’s involvement in lifesaving and drowning prevention began in the early 1970’s, when he obtained the RLSS Bronze Medallion at the age of 17. After that, he began volunteering for the Life Saving Society of Malaysia, eventually becoming the Secretary General of Life Saving Society of Malaysia – Penang from 1990 – 2010, and their President from 2010 – 2022. He is also the President of the Life Saving Society of Malaysia’s National Branch, a position he has held since 2010.

Geh is a founding member of the Water Safety Activity Council of Malaysia, which is responsible for highlighting and addressing high risk areas, and also advising on the installation of water safety signage around Malaysia.

As well as being an RLSS Trustee, Geh is also a board member of International Life Saving Federation and Asia Pacific Life Saving.

It is his dream to design a water safety educational park, a place for all to gather and learn, train and practice the skills to prevent drowning. This park would be eco-friendly and accessible to all, especially people with disabilities and senior citizens.
