Patricia Kitchen was a senior leader in sport and recreation in the university setting until she retired in 2020. Outside of her working life, she has a longstanding volunteer with the Lifesaving Society in Canada, starting out in the lifesaving program area in Ontario. From there she held the position of President for Lifesaving Society Ontario and then moved into volunteer roles with the Lifesaving Society Canada. She has held national commissioner positions in lifesaving sport, international relations and most recently in public education. Patricia has also travelled internationally representing the Lifesaving Society Canada as chef de mission for some world lifesaving sport championships and World Conferences on Drowning Prevention.  She is passionate about lifesaving, having dedicated 34 years to the drowning prevention mission.
