Pool Lifeguard Reciprocity

What is reciprocity?

Reciprocity is the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit.

This is exactly what RLSS Australia, Lifesaving Society Canada, Lifesaving South Africa and RLSS United Kingdom (UK) have done!

If you hold a valid RLSS Pool Lifeguard qualification in either Australia, Canada, South Africa or the UK and are looking to use the skills and knowledge you have in another of these countries, it is now possible!

Certain elements of the pool Lifeguard qualification are tailored towards the individual county to ensure it is fit for purpose and provides Lifeguards with the relevant skills to carry out their lifesaving role in that country. However, there are common elements that are consistent among other countries.

RLSS Commonwealth has worked hard to identify the skills and topics that cross over between the qualifications in these countries, and we now have a clear pathway for lifeguards to become qualified within one of these countries.

Please note that we currently can only offer this reciprocity to lifeguards holding a lifeguard qualification in Australia, Canada, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
