Sanath Wijayaratne

Trustee for Asia Pacific Region 

Sanath has been involved with lifesaving for approximately 30 years and describes it at his passion. Since 2009, he has held several management positions at Sri Lanka Life Saving, including Vice President and President, and he now holds the position of Honorary Advisor, whilst also serving as the Head of the Sports Selection Committee. During his tenure at SLLS, Sanath helped to produce and publish the first ever drowning report for Sri Lanka.  

He is now serving his third term as RLSS Commonwealth Trustee. 

Sanath has had a career in Management, IT, Finance and Airline Industries. Currently, he holds a senior position at Commonwealth Iconic Federation as the “National Executive Director (Management)” for Sri Lanka chapter.
