Today, 10th March 2025, we are celebrating Commonwealth Day and the theme for this year is ‘Together We Thrive’ which reinforces the unity and solidarity of the 56 member states that make up the Commonwealth.
‘Together We Thrive’ is a theme that the Royal Life Saving Society fully embraces. As a family of lifesaving organisations, we work together and support each other in our humanitarian mission to prevent drowning and save lives.
The recently launched WHO Global Status Report on Drowning Prevention also encourages collaboration and multi sectorial engagement and where this has occurred, there is evidence of a reduction in the rates of deaths by drowning – this underlines the theme ‘Together We Thrive’
