Young people play a vital role in the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and our Commonwealth family. We are committed to creating opportunities for young people to develop water safety skills, contribute to drowning prevention, and shape the future of lifesaving across the Commonwealth.
Following the success and fantastic engagement from our existing Youth Advisory Board (see [Terms of Reference]), our Director of Youth Development is expanding the group to capture the views of more youth members from across the Commonwealth. This will further strengthen how we involve young people in shaping strategy and delivering impactful activities.
The Board will focus on youth engagement across volunteering, lifesaving sport, commercial lifeguarding, and participation in RLSS Commonwealth campaigns and major events.
This builds on the work started by our previous Youth Advocate and the existing Youth Advisory Group, and we hope many of those involved will continue to play an active role.
